My
Contest Page - Road to Junior USA's!!
Welcome to my
brand new contest page which I decided to add for the 2008 season,
because I know that this is going to be my best year ever! I am
working extremely hard and my diet is very intense and detailed.
For the first time in a while I can say that I am operating on all
cylinders, training several new clients as well as doing double
cardio, yep that’s two 45-minute sessions per day. You can
check out all of my latest workouts on the top industry news feed
at BodybuildingWeekly.com or in my back stage area at FigureRX.com.
Update: May 8,
2008
Things are looking
better now, at the time of my last progress pics a couple of days ago I was
flatter and now I am filling out and I can see more vascularity. Check back
for more pictures tonight or tomorrow!! I have just added a shoot with my
bud Annie R for Muscle Angels on Sunday morning after the show, in addition to
all my photo and video work for my web site and my team.
Update: May 6,
2008
Hi everyone, things
are crazy but everything is on track for the show and I finally have some
progress pics a couple weeks out. I am holding a little bit of water that is where
I want to be right now and my assessments went great today. I am really hard
like I have been the past 2-3 weeks or so but we plan to bring in the delts
and legs a little bit more in response to the judging in Pittsburgh. I will
look somewhere in between where I was at Junior USA's (3rd place) and North
Americans (4th place) but the judging was very different at each place with
very different looks. So we will see if I can find that middle ground that I
am looking for!!
Here is one progress
picture and you can see a large version and the rest in
my progress journal at FigureRX.
Update: April
28, 2008
I hope everyone
had a great weekend, we had a lot of sunshine in Tampa and I have
a little tan going on now! I am now less than three weeks out from
my show and I’m getting so excited I can’t wait to step
on stage. Plus Junior USA’s in Charleston is a lot of fun,
Tres and Shannon treat you great and I love the hotel and the location.
If you are a member of my web site and you see me there be sure
to step up and let me know!
Check back here
for two weeks out progress pictures.
2008 Junior USA’s and Junior Nationals
If you are a fan thinking of attending some national show this year
then you should pick Junior USA’s and Junior Nationals in
Chicago – they are two of the best! At Junior USA’s
I will be shooting with FigureRX contest photographer John Nafpliotis
and doing video for my site. We will also have a few guest stars
for Team FigureRX shooting there as well. For details on the show
please go to the
special forum area at RX.
Junior
Nationals is going to be a blast!! My figure team is co-sponsoring
the show and we will have a booth outside and a banner on stage,
with a supplement partner. All us hard core figure girls will all
be hanging out and for sure my teammates Ali Huston and Lindsey
Cope will be on stage with me. Last year we had so much fun with
“Miss Furious” Jamie Reed and Allison Moyer as well
and I can’t wait to do it all again!
My
Contest History
For those of you who aren’t familiar, I want to provide you
with a little bit about the contest history that I have listed on
my biography page. In 2003, at age 18, I became nationally qualified
for the first time when I placed second in the Figure Teen class
at the NPC Southern States. I didn’t have quite enough muscle
to compete nationally yet so I took some time to add mass –
and then I added so much muscle that I had to get rid of a trainer
who was trying to push me into bodybuilding! But I’m 100%
figure girl, so I slimmed down and came in shredded for my national
debut at USA’s in Las Vegas in 2005. After re-qualifying along
with my friend Paola Almerico at the Gold Cup in November 2005,
I placed 3rd at the 2006 NPC Junior USA’s and 4th at the 2006
NPC Junior Nationals, all in the figure tall class. Pictures from
all of these shows are available in my galleries and on my news
page.
Then in the
summer of 2006 the national judging criteria changed a little bit
and I was marked down for being very muscular and ultra conditioned
at Figure Nationals in New York and USA’s in Las Vegas. But
on the plus side these shows included some of my best photo shoots
that you can see in my VIP area! Between July and late August I
softened up a little bit for a beach shoot in Laguna and a gym shoot
with Steve Wennerstrom in Orange County, and then I competed at
the North American Championships and once again I placed in the
top five.
In early 2007
I suffered a slight tear in my knee while practicing my fitness
routine, and it was injured again when my child (my boxer Layla)
ran into the side of my leg on the stairs one day. Determined to
compete, I still moved ahead with my plans and did the first ever
Arnold Amateur in March and then Junior USA’s in April but
I just was not able to prepare as well as I would have liked. Finally,
before Junior Nationals I was compensating for my knee but still
squatting and leg pressing huge amounts, and I injured a disk in
my lower back. At that point, after Junior Nationals, I decided
to take the rest of the year off to rehabilitate and to make sure
I would be at my best the following year. I was disappointed to
miss being with my teammates in New York and Las Vegas but I am
happy to report that I am now injury free and feeling better than
ever!!
I want to thank
the Team FigureRX trainer Nejim Sharbek who has helped me, Jamie
Reed and Ali Huston show up on stage at our best. He really knows
his stuff and we will get his info up here soon. But in the meantime
look for me to turn some heads at my next shows!!
